Struggles Feel Real
However help is just a phone call away!
Grief & Loss
I also specialise in working in the following areas
Drug & Alcohol Abuse | LGBTIQ & Gender Issues | Anxiety Counselling | Depression Counselling | Weight Management Counselling
I commenced my Counselling Studies in 2012 and in 2015 completed a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in Counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). I also possess qualifications in Drug & Alcohol, Case Management, Leadership & Management and Mental Health. I have recently completed a graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy, a graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and several professional development courses in the area of Mental Health and Drugs & Alcohol. In most recent years my career has allowed me to work in a private practice working with individuals to overcome problems with drugs and or alcohol, managing their mental health or learning ways to navigate and work through the process of grief and loss.
I chose to become a Psychotherapist so I could assist individuals in overcoming life’s complexities, to be able to be an empathetic ear for when people are going through a crisis and to let people know that they are not alone and help is available to them. I take a holistic approach when working with individuals and possess a warm, non-judgemental disposition. Having seen a Psychotherapist in the past for my own challenges, I feel it has equipped me in being a more empathetic and holistic practitioner.
I am a Clinical Psychotherapist who commenced private practice in 2013. In this time I have worked as a Therapeutic Clinical Manager, Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, Forensic Counsellor, Mental Health Clinician and have mainly worked with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients.
Recently I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapy and will be commencing a Post Graduate Certificate in Suicide Prevention in February 2020.
I completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Counselling) in 2012 and am currently registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Australian and New Zealand Counselling Association (AANZCA) and the Mental Health Academy. (MHA)
I have also completed Diplomas in Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health, Case Management and Leadership & Management. I use cognitive behaviour therapy, mindfulness, solution focused and person centred modalities in my treatments.
